The first trip to the Philippines was so good we planned another one a year later to dive the Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park in the middle of the Sulu Sea. We booked with the Expedition Fleet for 4 days diving.

   Going back to Vienna in 2007 seems like a time capsule to me, and it’s not long ago. I’d read John Irving’s first novel Setting free the bears years ago and it had alerted me that Vienna might be a cool place to visit. Yet, it had never risen to my priority list.

I was at a dinner the other night and some friends ridiculed me for thinking of providing information on what travel costs, because they say it is so idiosyncratic. I don’t fully agree about this. People like information about travel and searching on the Net there isn’t much information out there about what travel actually costs. And it doesn’t matter whether you are on a higher or lower budget, such information is useful.
