Introduction to the sport

Having covered an esoteric sport in Addicted to Sumo too a few weeks ago, Tony thought it was time to cover another: also a professional sport, but this time with horses. Denise is the expert at horse sports and apart from the introduction and final comment, the main text is all hers.

Preamble

After setting up BreadtagSagas in April and migrating it to a hosted site in May, this is post number 38. Learning WordPress and blogging was a huge learning curve and beginning writing posts also a major task, but I have to say both enjoyable and rewarding. To some extent after setting up the framework I am still feeling my way. I am also beginning to wean myself off obsessive posting, cutting down slightly so to speak.

Introduction

Avram Davidson Rork! Berkley Books,1965

I am hopelessly biased about Rork! by Avram Davidson. It is one of my favourite Classic Sci Fi books ever, particularly those of the short pulp variety, so far under discussion. Rork! is about 60,000 words. I am probably going to oversell it, be warned.
